PT 2 of Dobson and Gingrich

On a recent "Focus on the family", Rooty-Toot Newt Gingrich played true confessions about affairs while he was leading the impeachment charge of Bill Clinton for having an affair. What a hypocrite! Dobson's doctrine of forgiveness seems to be extended only to those with whom he agrees politically. Gingrich claimed it was all about perjury, but didn't seem perturbed about Scotter Libby's perjury, or Tom DeLay's, or any number of right-wingers who have lied under oath.

Who appointed James Dobson the moral arbitor of the Universe anyway? Dobson, in his typical heavy handed way, is demanding the firing or silencing of a National Association of Evangelicals official for the egregious and unforgivable offense of taking global warming seriously? This is the same guy who said that Mark Foley's page view scandal was a "joke" and that Foley didn't have sex with any of the young men until after they were 18 or some such nonsense.

In a March 1 letter to the board of the NAE, Dobson said the Rev. Richard Cizik, Vice President for government relations has waged a "relentless campaign that is dividing and demoralizing evangelicals". Dobson wasn't that critical of Ted Haggard for using drugs and paying a male escort for sex. I wonder if it's the fact that Haggard is considered a strong conservative, taking the company line of social issues?

It turns out that, as we suspected, Lisa Nowak and Bill Oefelein did have an affair and Nowak was planning to divorce her husband.

Mariah Carey As A Country Singer?

You've got to be kidding. In the forthcoming movie, Tennessee, shot in Nashville, Mariah Carey plays an aspiring Country Singer fleeing her "controlling husband". Ms Carey co-wrote a song, "Right to Dream" with Willie Nelson and performed it with Bio Willie's harmonica player. Director Aaron Woodley said "people were weeping on the crew when she sang it". That bad, huh? What was that bomb she did earlier "All that Glitters"? What's next Britney Spears as a nun?

The Scooter Store

Have you gotten any of those annoying emails from The Scooter Store? I have, but with today's news, the term takes on a new meaning. I am referring to the conviction of Lewis "Scooter" Libbey in the Valerie Plame/CIA (or should we say CYA?) case. This verdict could have far-reaching implications. Libbey could be invited to go quail hunting with Dick Cheney before he reports for prison. Libbey, not Cheney, I mean, but stay tuned.
